Description: When we create spaces that are inclusive of all genders, sexualities, and identities, everyone thrives. When we don’t, we all suffer. This presentation discusses the urgent need of teachers and school leaders to become allies. Drawing on systems theory, the presenter will discuss how to create thriving systems – and how queer inclusivity is at the heart of this process. Using stories, videos, and experiential activities (COVID permitting), participants will understand why all students need LGBTQ allies in the classroom – even those who aren’t queer identified – and how they can make this happen.
