Feedback form is now closed.
In this session, participants will explore the “what” of enhancing engagement by sharing and exploring strategies that enhance social emotional engagement and a sense of belonging in the classroom setting.  Consistent with a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework, Social Emotional Engagement - Knowledge and Skills (SEE-KS) provides freely accessible tools that participants will be able to use for designing instruction to get the hook, present information in different ways, and foster different modes of expression.  Participants will learn about the freely accessible tool, the SEE-KS Quick Reference tool, as a reference for identifying strategies for enhancing engagement.
Participants will:
  1. Identify three domains of essential instructional strategies that promote active student engagement and positive outcomes in learning and emotional well-being, and
  2. Apply a checklist of instructional strategies for fostering the emotional “hook,” providing information in different ways, and fostering student expression within academic activities.
