Iowa BEST: Behavioral, Equitable, Social-Emotional, Trauma-Informed Health in Schools Summit
The Iowa BEST Summit is designed to highlight educators’ collective need to bolster support and care across the educational system, and to build shared capacity to get there. The sessions will deliver resources and practical solutions around social-emotional-behavioral health. #IowaBEST2021

Education Program Consultant
Kim Drew is a special education program consultant at the Iowa Department of Education. She received her BA from the University of Northern Iowa and her MS from the University of Kansas. Since starting at the Department in 2014, she has worked in the areas including Secondary Transition, Family and Educator Partnership, as well as a variety of other special education-related topic areas.  Prior to joining the Department, Kim was employed in a variety of roles in public education both in Iowa and in Kansas. She taught various levels of special education, as well as 6th grade math and also worked as a Transition Specialist in the Blue Valley School District in Overland Park, KS. In addition to working in public education, Kim worked in the corporate world as a trainer for new hire employees and in the non-profit arena as a fundraiser for two different organizations.
