Iowa BEST: Behavioral, Equitable, Social-Emotional, Trauma-Informed Health in Schools Summit
The Iowa BEST Summit is designed to highlight educators’ collective need to bolster support and care across the educational system, and to build shared capacity to get there. The sessions will deliver resources and practical solutions around social-emotional-behavioral health. #IowaBEST2021

Jacob is an Associate Professor and the Director of Couple and Family Therapy program at the University of Iowa. He also serves as the director of the LGBTQ Counseling Clinic, has an appointment in the Department of Psychiatry, and has a private practice at the Counseling Center of Iowa City. He is a frequent contributor to Iowa Public Radio, his work has been featured on outlets such as CNN and NatGeo Kids, and he it the co-host of the Attached Podcast. Jacob is the author of The Science of Family System Theory, and more than 30 scientific publications. He lives in Cedar Rapids, Iowa with his wife Chelsea, his son Keenan, and five cats – Albert, Louie, Woodward, Lyndon, and Cecilia.
