Iowa BEST: Behavioral, Equitable, Social-Emotional, Trauma-Informed Health in Schools Summit
The Iowa BEST Summit is designed to highlight educators’ collective need to bolster support and care across the educational system, and to build shared capacity to get there. The sessions will deliver resources and practical solutions around social-emotional-behavioral health. #IowaBEST2021

Donna A. Kitrick, MSW, LISW is a Mental Health Coordinator for Waterloo Community Schools, previously she held the position as the Now Is the Time (Project AWARE) grant coordinator for the district. She received her Master’s in Social Work from San Diego State University and earned a Bachelor’s in Behavioral Science from California Polytechnic University at Pomona. In her current role she is responsible for assessing the student’s social -emotional wellbeing and intervening when appropriate to address student needs, connecting students and families to district and community resources. Before joining Waterloo Community Schools, she was employed by Michigan State University Counseling Center, where she provided support to students receiving mental health through a collaborative model.
